Respond to Hackney's consultation
The council is running a public consultation on the Cherbury Court development proposal (Stage 2) for the St John's Estate which closes on 21 June.
How to respond
- Go to the consultation page: Cherbury Court Development Proposal, Stage 2
- Read through the proposal so you understand what is being suggested.
- Click on 'Share your views' to begin the survey.
- Try to answer the questions, using the free text boxes to input in ways that might not be covered by the questions:
- You support the delivery of new, much-needed homes on the estate.
- You object to the loss of the community garden as part of the proposal.
- The garden is a vital, well-used community asset that brings residents together.
- You'd like the council and architects to explore alternative layouts or sites that deliver the homes without removing the garden.
- Use your own words if you can — personal stories about the garden carry real weight. Include a few sentences about what it means to you, your family, or your neighbours.
- Submit the form before the consultation closes on 21 June.
Notes
-
We do not consider the design of this consultation to be in good faith.
-
The original consulation was carried out before anyone had determined that the garden would be placed in jeopardy.
-
The report based on the first consultation included various false claims.
